About the Position:
As Monitor, you will be directing and safely supervising students 24 hours a day.
Salary Range: $16-$20/hr
What You Will Do:
- Supervises students during daytime and evening hours and notifies staff of any symptoms or signs of substance abuse of students and/or drug overdoses.
- Supervise students’ daily activities and assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of other staff.
- Documents and monitors regular bed checks as required. Communicate with other monitors in regards to daily activities or disturbances.
- Serves as an advisor and positive role model for students. Prevents and intervenes in student altercations and incidents.
- Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures.
- Assists in maintaining facility grounds and keeping equipment in proper working condition Assist in maintaining facility and equipment clean, orderly, and proper working condition.
- Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures
- Responsible for Critical Incidents and Incident reporting when occurs during scheduled shift. Up-loads clinical supportive documentation (i.e.: motivation logs, intensions forms, etc.).
- Participates in community activities as it relates to the position and attends additional training as needed.
- Administers First Aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Knowledge of ethnic and cultural differences within criminal justice populations.
- Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of incarceration; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of incarceration
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
