Salary Range: $20/hr-$22/hr

About the Position:

As a Job Developer, you will contribute to the community by assisting the unemployed in the areas of employment preparation, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search, and placement. The Developer will provide a variety of resources to support student's transition into long-term sustainable work, provided the student has progressed with their treatment as determined by the Caseworker and Agent of Record (AOR). 

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain an updated roster of participant placements.
  • Assist participants who lose their job in again securing job placement.
  • Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain progress notes in students’ files. Monitor students who evidence the best retention rates.
  • Actively collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities for participants.
  • Notify prospective employers of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the fidelity bonding incentive, and any other benefit for hiring participants.
  • Prepare and update a monthly roster of those employers willing to hire participants and provide the roster to CDCR (California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation) upon request.
  • Correspond with the AOR (Agent of Record) prior to placement to ensure there are no limitations on job location and or job types.
  • Provide counseling and other employability services to the clients and assist them in analyzing and
  • evaluating their employment, assets, and aptitudes, providing information on occupational opportunities,
  • job requirements, training, and rehabilitation resources, and assist in formulating plans to achieve
  • occupational goals and refer them to appropriate employers, training and educational facilities, or other
  • community agencies and organizations, if applicable
  • Assess participants to determine employment, training, and Career Technical Education (CTE) needs and coordinate referrals with Program Director and other assigned staff.
  • Provide employment services including resume writing, mock interviews, time management, how to get along with others in a work environment, and how to follow instructions.
  • Assist participants to become prepared for the workforce and in locating and securing employment, educational services, or CTE training;
  • Assist participants in assembling the necessary documents to legally work within California and completing their initial résumé.
  • Ensure project (program) compliance with Amity policies and procedures, relevant to federal and state regulations and contract obligations.
  • Assist with the recruitment of students on parole and work with participants once they have been placed into employment. Address issues that may arise after job placement. 

What You Will Bring:

  • Four year (4) degree in Social Sciences or related fields, OR a High school diploma or equivalent, AND Two (2) years of experience as a job developer or similar position.
